Who  are you?

That is a great question! My name is Dona and I see, hear, and feel things that others don’t always experience. I was born this way. It has not been an easy path to be on. I recently found my people and started on this path. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate, supervised by Crystal Dungan and I own my private practice, Amyris Counseling and Wellness, Pllc.

Growing up was a challenge as I was told more times than can be counted, “Dona, leave your imaginary friends alone and go play with your real friends.” To me the ones that only I could see were just at real as my “real” friends. As I got older I discovered that not everyone could see, hear, and feel the things I could. Sometimes it can be scary or annoying and other times it can be simply amazing.

  • Yes it is! The paranormal is real and so is trauma. Some people and investigators can have traumatic experiences before, during and even after an investigation/experience or paranormal event/events.

  • Yes I do. I am a licensed professional counselor - associate (LPC-A). This means that I am licensed to provide therapy in the State of Texas. I do own my own Private Practice called Amyris Counseling and Wellness, Pllc. I am still under supervision to receive full licensure. I am hoping to be fully licensed in June, 2025. I do not take insurance, but I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • I am located in Texas and see all of my clients virtually.

As I am only licensed in the State of Texas, I can only provide therapy for Texas Residents. All other states/countries I can consult with you and provide coaching services and referrals to therapists in your state.

  • As a Therapist I address a wide range of issues, including Anxiety, Depression, trauma, PTSD, and life's little challenges.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. It involves the patient recalling distressing experiences, without reliving them, while simultaneously undergoing bilateral sensory input, such as side-to-side eye movements, which helps the brain reprocess the memories and reduce their emotional impact. EMDR is commonly used to treat PTSD and other trauma-related conditions.
